Oscar Wilde once said "Pehaps there is more to life than any painted angel". I knew what he meant, so I started to write a screenplay. At the time I didn't have any great contacts in the film
world, being rather more of a TV person, so I applied myself to some serious writing, and converted it into what will be my first novel ... I have now submitted it to several leading publishers and
await their response.
Publication details will be posted here - hopefully not too far into the future.
No details yet, but I've been longing to get down to writing this one, as it's very close to my heart. Drawing towards the end of Act 2 now ...
Watch this space, but not too closely !
"DEATH DUTY" is being adapted to the screen, and will be available either as a full length feature film (running time approx 110 minutes) or as a two part TV drama (2 x 55 minute) after the
next re-write ...
DEEPCUT BARRACKS - the name, the controversy, the demand for a full public enquiry, all of these continue to hit the news reports and newspapers regularly. It will all blow apart again in about 2 years time.
This is a story which won't go away - and although "Death Duty" is a fictional story concerning the death of an army recruit, and is NOT CONNECTED to the tragic events at Deepcut, the story echoes similar concerns, and reveals surprising truths which parallel reality.
A court-room drama, a murder mystery, and more ... at times funny, poignant, startling, and ultimately tragic.
Based on the personal experiences of the writer, this is a true-to-life story of army recruits, bullying, isolation, and eventually, death.
A portfolio of game show formats in pre-production will be launched early in 2018. Details will be released in due course.
